About this book
This is the fourth notebook of the series "Ancient Magic and Magnetism". It contains Chapters XII–XIV, complete. "The Origin of Force": no effect without a cause, action and reaction always equal, clairvoyants who "read" the history of objects — even the life of a mastodon from a chip of its tooth — and Anderson's conclusion that there is no free will, so people should not be judged by their deeds alone. "Vital Magnetic Force", largely after Albert Chavannes (1888): vital force as an intelligent substance, renewed by food, air and sunlight and kept in three "store-houses" — the brain, the sympathetic nerve and the sexual organs. "Magnetism the Medium of Mental Inspiration": the chain of minds from the "Mind of all minds"; storms, the earth's motion and family life explained by currents and cohesion; and a closing thought of Prentice Mulford. The text is given complete, as Anderson printed it; only obvious printer's errors of the 1895 edition are corrected.
